The Boyd County Fair Board and the Boyd County Cooperative Extension Service have worked hand in hand to make our County Fair successful. We will continue our effort to make the Boyd County Fair a proud tradition for all of Boyd County. With this goal in mind the fair board is continually striving to bring new exhibits, competitions, and entertainment to the fair.
This year will feature several new events. Wednesday night will feature lawnmower races in derby area and then on Saturday afternoon we will have Square Dancing Tractors from Delaware, OH. These tractors have performed in the Bob Evans festival for a number of years as well as many fairs and festivals.
On Wednesday night we are pleased to host OCW wrestling again. Thursday will feature Gospel Music with the Primitive Quartet and a Mud Bog in the Motor Sports Arena.
The BC Fair Talent Competition will be on Thurssday night this year. The competition is open to all genre’s of music. Complete rules, instructions and entry forms can be found here.(click)
Saturday’s entertainment will feature the Bluegrass Music of Melvin Goins and Bottomline. Of course with the new additions there will also be many of the old favorites for the fair such as the Goat Milking Competition, Demolition Derby, 4-H Horse shows, Little Mr. and Miss Farmer Contests, Gospel, Country, and much, much more.
Also The Boyd County Fair Kitchen offers hot home cooked meals every day during the fair. Without a doubt there are some of the best cooks in the state right here in Boyd County. Just load the family up and have dinner with us in our air-conditioned building while catching the nightly entertainment on the main stage inside the “Building of Dreams”.
